Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Focero respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be processed when you use focero.com and Focero’s timers, focus environments, study rooms, clocks, ambient sound tools, classroom tools, and related services.

Focero is designed to operate with as little personal information as reasonably necessary. Focero currently does not offer user accounts, and its core features can currently be used without registration.

Information about the website and its hosting is provided on the Legal Notice page.

1. Information stored locally on your device

Many Focero features use browser storage to remember your settings and make the service easier to use.

Depending on the features you use, locally stored information may include:

  • timer presets and custom durations;
  • focus and break settings;
  • selected rooms, scenes, or visual themes;
  • ambient sound selections and volume preferences;
  • display preferences, including overlay and clean-mode settings;
  • your current focus task or focus intention;
  • other settings used to restore your preferred Focero experience.

This information is generally stored on your own device using technologies such as localStorage or similar browser storage.

Unless a feature clearly states otherwise, Focero does not currently require this locally stored information to be uploaded to a Focero user account or Focero database.

You can remove locally stored Focero information by clearing Focero site data in your browser. Doing so may reset your saved preferences.

2. Analytics information

Focero uses Google Analytics to understand how the website and its features are used and to improve the service.

Analytics information may include:

  • pages viewed;
  • sessions and engagement;
  • approximate geographic information;
  • browser and device information;
  • referring sources or traffic channels;
  • interactions with Focero features.

For example, Focero may measure product interactions such as starting a timer, pausing a timer, completing a timer session, entering full-screen mode, or enabling or disabling ambient sounds.

These events are intended to help us understand product usage and improve Focero.

Focero does not intentionally send the text of your focus task, personal notes, or other free-form text entered into Focero to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish browsers and sessions.

Where applicable law requires consent for analytics cookies or similar technologies, Focero will use appropriate consent controls.

3. Information you provide directly

If you contact Focero, submit feedback, request support, propose a partnership, or otherwise communicate with us, we may receive information that you voluntarily provide, such as:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the content of your message;
  • other information reasonably necessary to respond to your request.

We may use this information to respond to you, provide support, handle business or media inquiries, maintain relevant records, or otherwise address your request.

4. How information is used

Information described in this Privacy Policy may be used to:

  • provide and operate Focero;
  • remember local preferences;
  • maintain timer and focus functionality;
  • understand which features are useful;
  • improve usability, performance, and reliability;
  • diagnose technical problems;
  • prevent misuse where reasonably necessary;
  • respond to support, feedback, media, or business inquiries;
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

Focero does not use the text of locally stored focus tasks for advertising.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Focero may use different types of browser storage.

Functional storage helps Focero remember product settings such as timer settings, scenes or rooms, sounds, display preferences, and other local product preferences. This storage supports Focero’s functionality and personalization.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure website visits and product usage. Where consent is required by applicable law, analytics storage will be handled according to the visitor’s consent choices.

You can also manage or delete cookies and stored website data through your browser settings.

6. Third-party services

Focero relies on third-party services and infrastructure to operate. These services may include providers used for website hosting and delivery, analytics, domain and DNS services, security and content delivery, and other necessary technical infrastructure.

Focero currently uses Google Analytics for website and product analytics.

Third-party service providers process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, and applicable data-processing arrangements.

7. Accounts and future account features

Focero currently does not offer user accounts.

The core Focero experience can currently be used without registration or providing an email address.

In the future, Focero may introduce optional or account-based features, which could include cross-device synchronization, saved preferences, focus history, favorite setups, cloud-saved focus environments, or other personalized features.

If Focero introduces account functionality or other features involving additional personal data, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what additional information is collected, why it is collected, how it is used, how long it is retained, what controls are available to users, and what rights may apply.

8. Data retention

Locally stored Focero settings may remain on your device until you remove them, clear browser or website data, your browser or operating system removes them, or Focero functionality resets or replaces the relevant data.

Analytics information is retained according to Focero’s analytics configuration and the applicable policies of the analytics provider, for as long as reasonably necessary for analytics and product-improvement purposes.

Information sent directly to Focero may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

9. International processing

Focero is available to users in multiple countries and regions.

Some third-party service providers used by Focero may process information in countries or regions other than the country where you live.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal data, appropriate legal mechanisms or service-provider safeguards will be used as required.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide rights relating to your personal data. These rights may include the right to:

  • request access to personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of personal data;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • request data portability where applicable;
  • lodge a complaint with an appropriate data-protection authority.

Because many Focero settings are currently stored only in your browser, you can often delete those settings directly by clearing Focero site data.

For other privacy requests, contact admin@focero.com.

11. Children and student use

Focero provides focus and study tools that may be useful to students, teachers, parents, and families.

Focero currently does not require users to create an account to use its core timer features and does not intentionally require children to provide personal information simply to use those core features.

Where applicable law requires parental, guardian, school, or other authorization for a child to use a particular feature involving personal data, those requirements should be followed.

Schools, teachers, and parents should also consider their own privacy obligations when using Focero in an educational setting.

12. Security

Focero takes reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed in connection with the service.

However, no website, browser storage system, device, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

For information stored locally in your browser, the security of your device and browser also affects the protection of that information.

13. Sale of personal information

Focero does not sell the text of your focus tasks, locally stored timer preferences, scene preferences, sound preferences, or other locally stored focus settings.

If Focero’s business model or data practices materially change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as required before materially different processing is introduced.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Focero’s features, technology, service providers, business model, or legal obligations change.

When material changes are made, the Last updated date at the top of this page will be revised, and additional notice will be provided where required.

15. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, your privacy rights, or Focero’s data practices, contact admin@focero.com.
