Last updated: August 12, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of focero.com and Focero’s timers, focus environments, study rooms, clocks, ambient sound tools, classroom tools, content, and related services.

By accessing or using Focero, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use Focero.

1. About Focero

Focero provides browser-based tools intended to support activities such as studying, reading, writing, focused work, time management, classroom activities, presentations, countdowns, and clocks.

Focero is intended to provide practical productivity and study tools. It does not guarantee any particular academic, professional, health, productivity, or performance outcome.

2. Access to the service

Focero currently provides many of its core features without requiring user registration.

We may introduce, modify, remove, restrict, or make optional account-based features available in the future.

Certain features may differ depending on browser capabilities, device type, operating system, region, or technical availability. We do not guarantee that every feature will be available on every device or browser.

3. Personal and educational use

You may use Focero for lawful personal, educational, classroom, and professional purposes, subject to these Terms.

Teachers and educational users may display appropriate Focero tools in classrooms or other learning environments.

Organizations wishing to integrate, redistribute, commercially package, resell, or otherwise make Focero part of another commercial product or service should contact Focero where permission may be required.

4. Acceptable use

When using Focero, you agree not to:

  • use the service for unlawful purposes;
  • intentionally interfere with the operation or security of Focero;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or infrastructure;
  • use automated systems in a manner that places an unreasonable burden on the service;
  • attempt to bypass technical protections or access restrictions;
  • distribute malware or malicious code through or in connection with Focero;
  • impersonate Focero or falsely suggest an official partnership or endorsement;
  • copy or redistribute protected Focero content in violation of applicable intellectual-property rights;
  • use Focero in a way that infringes the rights of other people or organizations.

Reasonable use of ordinary browsers, accessibility technologies, search engines, and legitimate research or educational tools is not prohibited by this section.

5. Locally stored information

Some Focero features save settings or information locally in your browser. This may include timer settings, scenes or rooms, sound preferences, display preferences, and focus intentions or tasks.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate access to and security of your own device.

Clearing browser data, changing browsers, reinstalling software, using private browsing, or changing devices may result in locally stored Focero information being lost. Focero does not guarantee recovery of locally stored settings or information.

6. Future accounts and personalized services

Focero currently does not offer user accounts.

We may introduce optional account-based or cloud-based features in the future.

If such features are introduced, additional terms may apply to account creation, authentication, cloud storage, synchronization, subscriptions, payments, cancellation, account suspension, or deletion. Any material additional terms will be presented where appropriate when such features become available.

7. Third-party services and links

Focero may use or link to third-party services, websites, platforms, content, or infrastructure.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Focero is not responsible for the availability, security, content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services that are outside Focero’s control.

A link from Focero to another website does not necessarily mean that Focero endorses that website, organization, product, or service.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the Focero name, branding, website design, original software, original interface elements, written content, and other original materials provided through Focero are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Focero intellectual property to users.

You may use the service as permitted by these Terms, but you may not reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit protected Focero materials except where applicable law permits it, an applicable open-source license permits it, or Focero has provided permission.

Third-party materials incorporated into Focero remain subject to the rights and licenses of their respective owners.

9. User-provided content and focus information

Certain Focero features may allow you to enter information such as a focus task or focus intention.

You should not enter confidential, highly sensitive, or legally restricted information into Focero unless a feature is specifically designed to handle such information.

Where such information is stored only in your browser, you remain responsible for the security of the device on which it is stored.

If Focero later introduces account-based, sharing, community, or cloud-storage features, additional rules may apply to information submitted through those features.

10. Classroom and student use

Focero may be used by students, teachers, parents, and educational organizations.

Focero is a general productivity and study tool and is not a substitute for professional educational advice, school policies, accessibility accommodations, medical advice, mental-health advice, or supervision required by a school, parent, guardian, or responsible adult.

Teachers, schools, parents, and guardians are responsible for determining whether and how Focero is appropriate for their particular educational environment.

11. Availability and changes to Focero

We may improve, modify, replace, suspend, or discontinue features of Focero from time to time.

For example, we may change timer features, scenes and sounds, interface design, supported browsers, storage methods, analytics, free or paid features, account functionality, or integrations.

We may also perform maintenance or make technical changes that temporarily affect availability. Where reasonably possible, we aim to maintain a reliable service, but continuous or uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

12. No guarantee of results

Focero is intended to help users structure time and create a focus-friendly environment. Individual results vary.

Using Focero does not guarantee improved grades, successful examinations, increased productivity, achievement of professional goals, treatment of attention or concentration difficulties, or any particular learning, health, or psychological outcome.

Users remain responsible for how they organize their work, study, breaks, and other activities.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Focero is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that Focero will always operate without interruption, that every timer will remain active when a browser or device restricts background activity, that locally stored information will never be lost, that every feature will work on every device or browser, or that the service will always be free from errors or technical issues.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Focero and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from the use of, inability to use, or reliance on Focero.

Examples may include losses resulting from missed timers or reminders, browser or device failures, loss of locally stored settings, temporary service interruptions, or reliance on information provided through the website.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

15. Privacy

Your use of Focero is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains how information may be processed when you use the service.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when Focero’s services, technology, business model, legal obligations, or account or payment functionality change.

The Last updated date at the top of this page will indicate the latest revision. Where required by applicable law, additional notice will be provided for material changes.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
